Freshers’ Fayre – why it’s an event not to be missed!

Shawna Leigh-Mackinnon and the team at the Highlands and Islands Students’ Association (HISA) Inverness have been extremely busy over the summer organising Freshers’ Fayre –  this year is going to be the biggest and best yet!

The main atrium, first floor reception area and sports hall will be a hive of activity on Wednesday with more than 90 stall holders decending on Inverness College UHI.

Businesses including the Eastgate Shopping Centre, Bar One and Domino’s Pizza are just a few you can expect to find on campus.

If you want to get the best out of the day, make sure you get here early – freebies are on a first come, first served basis! The event starts at 10am and runs until 2pm.

There will be offers and incentives and a wide range of freebies on the day. I can’t wait, it’s one of the best events we run and you won’t be disappointed!  So if you fancy some free pizza, washed down with a cheeky mocktail then get yourself along to Freshers’ Fayre.

But before that, for the first time ever, we are hosting a Sport and Activities Fayre on the Tuesday.  All of the Inverness College UHI/HISA clubs and societies will be in attendance to try and sign you up – this is a great chance to see what’s out there.

As a new student, this is a great time to join new clubs and societies – a great way to meet people and make new friends.  Here are just some of the clubs that will have a stand this year…drama, queerness, badminton, volleyball, Argentine tango, Christian society and football – just to name a few.

Keep up to date at

See you there!
